Study with Cindy Zou
Born and raised in Shanghai, Zou began piano at the age of 4. She studied with pianist Huang Hong at the Shanghai Conservatory until 17 and continued her music education in the United States. Zou holds a BM in piano performance from Union University studying with Dr Terry McRoberts on a full endowed scholarship and an MM in piano performance from the University of Memphis on a full graduate assistantship under the tutelage of Julliard pianist and composer Sam Viviano. She has served as staff collaborative pianist and teaching assistant at union university and the university of Memphis. In 2006, Zou opened her own piano studio and has been teaching generations of students, many of whom go on to become local and state competition winners, governor school scholarship recipients, and music majors in colleges. Zou received a top teacher award from Steinway and Sons in 2024. Her love and desire for classical music enables her to lead by example as a classical pianist and teacher. Zou maintains a large repertoire as an active pianist. Her mission is to bring awareness of classical music to the world, foster young talent, and develop students' love for piano with her passion and discipline. She enjoys a career of teaching and offers quality education to pre-college students.

Advanced Students, AP theory, Audition Prep
Students develop proper technique and musicianship through our program. 60min minimum weekly lesson time required. Virtual lessons available.

Piano Ensembles
Students play duets, duos, trios and quartets with each other and gain valuable musical experience as a team.

Studio Concerts
Yearly concerts provide opportunities for students to perform on stage in front of families and friends.

Master Class
Yearly master class is offered. We invite local teachers and artists to these open lessons, and to promote our students to a vast variety of learning opportunities.

Summer Music Intensive Program
Our summer program brings fun and learning together! Children’s choir, musicals, workshops are all the great things we offer during the summer!

Competitions
Join our competition training program to learn how to perform on stage with confidence and deliver a powerful and memorable performance.

Do I need a piano?
Yes. You need an acoustic piano from day one. We can help you to rent/purchase used or new pianos that fits your budget. Ask the teacher for referrals and advice on getting a piano.
What are the expectations?
We REQUIRE students to be consistent in coming to lessons and practice at home in order to produce desired results. We engage parents to be involved and informed throughout students’ studying.
What can I expect out of the teacher and piano lessons?
We offer an impeccable learning environment with high level teaching. You can expect a professional teacher who is kind, inspiring, firm and dedicated to your child’s education.
What is the studio policy and student expectations?
Studio policy will be given at the time of registration. It needs to be signed and returned upon your first lesson.
Are there any additional fees?
Beginners need to purchase books. Competitions, concerts, festivals are extra charges. Intermediate to Advanced students have access to my library for free.
What is our curriculum and methods of teaching?
I use children’s methods for beginners, classical music for intermediate and advanced students. I give detailed practice notes along with video instructions to each student weekly.
Lesson procedures
Drop offs are recommended for older students to provide the best teacher-student dynamics and learning environment. However, parents of elementary school children should sit in and take notes and learn along with them. Parents shall act as a practice coaches at home to ensure quality practice.

Through my 15 years of teaching experience, I provide high level teaching to all my students. I am great with children ages 5-18. I provide professional curriculums, nurture talent, instill discipline and inspire their love for piano. I lead by example through my work ethics, kindness, and discipline needed to succeed in life.
